In terms of architecture, Chateau Laffitte is modeled on Louvze, Viscount and Versailles. It uses Greco-Roman column construction style and recalls the Baroque style of the latter Renaissance. The building and interior decoration is majestic. The architecture of the other two castles is inspired by Fountainbleau and recalls the French Romantic period.
The architecture throughout the complex demonstrates the perfect combination of classicism and humanism. The lobby in the main castle is sumptuously decorated.
The main hall is 1100 square-meters with 21-meter ceilings. The dome painting on the ceiling is 24 meters in diameter. The painting depicts a story from Roman mythology and is of Zeus coming from the sky to inspect the universe, Apollo racing a chariot, and Bacchus?love story. The love story is at the center of the painting and is surrounded by scenes of Bacchus?childhood. The painting is exquisite and is a great art treasure. The painting on the dome, wall sculptures and crystal lights provide an elegant atmosphere for the chateau. |
